Scouts are presented with a series of requirements in a fun and educational manner. The aims of the requirements are to help develop character, focus on citizenship, to develop leadership skills and to develop physical and mental fitness. Learn more about rank advancements here.
As scouts complete the requirements for any rank (except Scout rank), they'll appear before a board of review (BOR). The purpose is to determine the quality of the Scout’s experience and decide whether the requirements for the rank was fulfilled. Learn more about the board of review process and what to expect.
Merit badges provide scouts opportunities to learn skills, introduce them to various hobbies or inspires them to pursue a career in a specific area. There are 135 merit badges for scouts to earn of which 21 are required for the Eagle rank. Learn more about completing merit badges here.
