Emails
Preferred ASAP to respond but maximum 2 days/3 days over a weekend to respond
Responses in full sentences, with your name (we don’t have time to match your email address with your name)
Responses must include two registered adult leaders (SMs and Committee Members) for youth protection
Must respond to all emails that are directed to you to acknowledge email received and read
- Non response will impact a scout’s troop participation level
- If information/action requested answer:
- Yes with details, especially with date for completions
- No with any details
- If you can’t perform an assignment, work with the youth leader to find someone to follow up
- Your inability to attend does not absolve you of the responsibility to help the remainder of patrol or troop
- Need more time to respond/get answer - provide a date and time when next response/update
Who to CC based on your position:
- Scouts: CC your Senior Patrol Leader (SPL), Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL), Patrol Leader (PL), and Assistant Patrol Leader (APL).
- Assistant Patrol Leaders (APLs): CC your Scoutmaster (SM), Assistant Scoutmasters (ASMs), SPL, ASPL, and PL.
- Patrol Leaders (PLs): CC your Scoutmaster (SM), Assistant Scoutmasters (ASMs), SPL, ASPL, and APL.
- Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL): CC the Scoutmaster (SM), Assistant Scoutmasters (ASMs), and SPL.
- Senior Patrol Leader (SPL): CC the Scoutmaster (SM), Assistant Scoutmasters (ASMs), and ASPL.
Communications cadence
Troop Monday meeting prep - Friday/Saturday before Monday meeting
Overnights starting Friday night - Tuesday before
Overnights starting Saturday morning - Wednesday before
Day trip/One day events - 48 hours beforehand
