This is the 156th Kings Country Memorial Day Parade, making it the longest continually running Memorial Day Parade in the United States.
The parade steps off at 76th Street & 3rd Avenue at 11:00 AM, but the troop should be there half an hour earlier and concludes with a ceremony inside John Paul Jones/Cannonball Park on 101st Street off 4th Avenue/Shore Road.
This event is MANDATORY.
It's very important to show respect to the soldiers that fell protecting this country.
Please come in full Class A uniform and please inform the SPL or ASPL if for whatever reason you won't make it.
A memorial day parade is an annual event in cities across the whole nation to honor fallen war veterans.
The tradition was started on May 30th, 1868, and has been going on ever since.
For more information, you can visit the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade website.
Our troop also took part in last year's Memorial Day Parade.
