This is the 155th Kings Country Memorial Day Parade, making it the longest continually running Memorial Day Parade in the United States.
The parade steps off at 78th Street & 3rd Avenue at 11:00 AM, but the troop should be there half an hour earlier and concludes with a ceremony inside John Paul Jones/Cannonball Park on 101st Street off 4th Avenue/Shore Road.
This is the first time we will be participating in the Memorial Day parade since the start of covid. It is a great way to respect fallen war veterans.
A memorial day parade is an annual event in cities across the whole nation to honor fallen war veterans.
The tradition was started on May 30th, 1868, and has been going on ever since.
For more information, you can visit the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade website.
Here is the st. Patrick's day parade, which is the previous parade we participated in.
