When:
October 28, 2023
Timeline:
3:00 pm — 8:00 pm
On Saturday, October 28th, the 2nd annual Trunk Or Treat Halloween Festival will occur, running from 3 PM to 8 PM. This event is well attended and presents a great opportunity for us (as well as the 50th Annual 3rd Avenue Festival).
This is an annual event organized by The 5th Avenue BID partnering with Brooklyn Bridge Parents. T23 will be volunteering in the Trunk Or Treat portion of the activities. Expect this to be well attended by youth and parents, and we need to represent T23 well. We can use everyone’s help in the setting up of the Scary Ambulance, contribution of candy as treats for children, greeting of the children who visit us, and eventual cleanup.
We will also use this as an opportunity to help recruit; both adults and scouts are vital for this. We need to be there from 3 to 8 (5 hours). Be mindful that we need to have scouts volunteering at the Ambulance for the entire duration, but we don’t need each scout to be the entire time, and we do not need all scouts at the same time. If you are able to be there for the entire time to help, great and you are welcome to do so.
Please be proactive and inform your PL when you can be there and for how long (as well as when you cannot). Be responsive when they reach out to you. You are also welcome to participate in the rest of the festival. It should be a fun time for all. It is highly recommended that you wear your costume, but the last resort can be your Class A. We will be recording the service hours you complete. (Remember that there are never enough service hours.)
We have been provided a spot at 8211 5th Avenue. Picturing 2 canopies, the American flag, the Troop flag, flyers, etc., and lots of fun.
Some adult leaders and parents will be there from 2:30 p.m. to set up the place. The exact location is marked on the map.
