When:
September 11, 2024
Timeline:
6:15 pm — 8:00 pm
Location: American Veterans Memorial Pier
Troop 23 will continue our annual tradition of being an active participant in the vigil. Scouts and Scouters must come looking your best in full Class A at 6:00 PM. The program is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. So parents and family do not have to come at the same time as scouts.
The following instructions are from Maia Yedin of the Office of Senator Andrew Gounardes:
"This year, I'll ask your help in setting them up to line the walkway onto the pier as attendees arrive. I will explain in detail on site. Please let scout parents know they'll need to stand off to the side while their scouts are performing their duties. As always, we will have some troop participation also in the presentation of colors and pledge of allegiance, and we will do a lineup for those scouts onsite.
Troop 13 will lead the presentation of colors this year. Each troop should choose 2 scouts to participate, and you should let us know a week in advance. Scouts and Leaders should arrive by 6:15 PM and get into position at the underpass area.
One scout per troop will be responsible for handing out flags and programs. These scouts may arrive at 6:00 PM.
In addition, 4-5 scouts from each troop will assist at the tent to assemble and hand out candles. The lighting will be handled by some of the adults."
