When:
October 01, 2023
Timeline:
11:00 am — 3:00 pm
On Sunday, October 1st, the 50th Annual 3rd Avenue Festival will occur, running from 10 AM to 6 PM. This event is always well attended and presents a great opportunity for us.
We have been provided a spot at 7919 3rd Avenue. Picturing 2 canopies, the American flag, the Troop flag, flyers, etc., and lots of fun.
We need our scouts to engage prospect scouts, and we need adults to do the same for prospect scout parents. We will occupy the station and also send smaller groups to walk around. Strong participation will also show others what a committed unit we are.
Note that we will also be collecting American Flags to be retired by us. This is another way in which we can let the community know of our support for the community and our citizenship.
Some adult leaders and parents will be there from 9 a.m. to set up the place. The exact location is marked on the map.

More details about the event:
Yesterday there was the 3rd Avenue festival, with our own booth from 11 AM -3 PM. The goal was to recruit potential Scouts into our troop. We used our Merchandise (Frisbees, Bracelets, Pencils, etc.) to promote Troop 23 to the general public. We traveled around to give out flyers across the entire festival. We also had some room in our stomachs and indulged in some stuffy donuts.
