This is a very rare and challenging hike so pack extremely lightly, also while packing consider the fact that it is an urban hike.
Be sure to dress warmly since it will be cold out, and wear comfortable shoes and thick socks to decrease the chances of a blister.
The Flushing Religious Freedom and Scouting Historical Trail Award
Here is the packet for the trail.
To get the award you must complete the trail itself (which we will be doing on the hike) and complete the questionnaire at the back of the packet. This questionnaire will need to be submitted either at the end of the hike or during the following Monday's meeting to get the award.
Hiking Merit Badge
Completing a 20-mile hike is the hardest part of getting the required hiking merit badge. Another such opportunity to get that requirement will likely not arise for another couple of years so it is best to do it now.
